| TEXTUFIL was founded in 1972. It is a family business currently run by its president Mr. Jorge Elías Bahaia and his two sons Elías Jorge Bahaia and Jorge Elías Bahaia. In its beginnings the factory produced only texturized nylon and polyester thread. These were distributed in the domestic and Central American markets. As part of its plans to become a vertically ingrated company and to satisfy the demands of its consumers and customers, it started production of dyed fabrics with prints in with the latest fashion and customer preferences. In 1985 the company invested in a new facility to produce thread for the sewing industry, increasing revenues and diversifying its product line. |

| In 1987, confronted by the needs of integration and higher quality control, the company installed a threading facility for cotton and blends, thus giving its fabrics more versatibility and availability. In 1992 an eight-color rotary printing machine was installed to offer a variety of designs and color, assuring quality and beauty. In 1993 the company mounted a facility for threading carded and combed cotton, increasing in 60% the installed capacity of cotton spun. Thus the company has achieved a full line of operation, vertically integrated from the handling of a bale of cotton, through its transformation into thread, then into fabrics and a variety of prints. QUALITY THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS Stringent quality controls throughout the manufacturing processes and the qualified skills of workers and the supervisors has resulted in the demand and preference for TEXTUFIL products in the domestic and international markets. Product quality, one of the most important characteristics of TEXTUFIL. The blending of high technology machinery, qualified staff and quality raw materials results in first class products highly demanded by customers worldwide. Textufil was awarded the coveted COEXPORT prize in 1991. The prize is given to the best export companies, symbolizing customer acceptance and quality products. TEXTUFIL exports 86% of its production. |
